UNTITLED [PRESS]

Untitled [Press] offers a series of classes and workshops in an array of printmaking disciplines, bookmaking, and letterpress in the printmaking studio at Untitled [ArtSpace]. The goal of Untitled [Press] is to facilitate instruction on printmaking processes and offer the community of Oklahoma City a place to experiment and explore this unique art-making practice.

Fall/Winter 2008-2009 UNTITLED [PRESS] Workshops
*NOTE: Most workshops are limited to 10 participants.

Lacye Swilley-Russell will teach a two-day Collagraphy Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23. The workshop will have sessions from 10 am - 6 pm each day. Collagraphy is the art of printing with textures. Swilley-Russell is an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Oklahoma. There will be 50% discount scholarships for enrolled high school or college students. A letter of inquiry must be submitted to Untitled [ArtSpace] on or before November 7 to be considered for the scholarships. Supplies will be included.

David Conn will teach a two-day Relief Printing Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, January 10 and 11. The workshop will have sessions from 10 am - 6 pm each day. Relief Printing involves using linocut and tradtiaional woodcut techniques to create images. Conn works out of Fort Worth, Texas and is a professor of art at Texas Christian University. There will be 50% discount scholarships for enrolled high school or college students. A letter of inquiry must be submitted to Untitled [ArtSpace] on or before December 30 to be considered for the scholarships. Supplies will be included.

Kathleen Rivers will teach a two-day Smart Plate Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, January 17 and 18. The workshop will have sessions from 10 am - 6 pm each day. Smart Plate printing combines the techniques of lithography with computer laser printing. Rivers is an assistant professor of art at East Central University in Ada. There will be 50% discount scholarships for enrolled high school or college students. A letter of inquiry must be submitted to Untitled [ArtSpace] on or before January 2 to be considered for the scholarships. Supplies will be included.

Betsy Barnum will teach a two-day Advanced Etching and Aquatint Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, February 21 and 22. The workshop will have sessions from 10 am - 6 pm each day. Etching is one of the oldest printmaking methods and uses metal plates to transfer images. Aquatint is an intaglio printmaking technique also using the application of acid to metal plates. Barnum is a printmaker who works out of Seattle, Washington. There will be 50% discount scholarships for enrolled high school or college students. A letter of inquiry must be submitted to Untitled [ArtSpace] on or before February 6 to be considered for the scholarships. Supplies will be included.

Betsy Barnum will teach a two-day Intermediate Bookbinding and Journaling Workshop on Saturday and Sunday, February 28 and March 1. The workshop will have sessions from 10 am - 6 pm each day. Barnum will teach participants different techniques they can use at home for creating, decorating, and binding their own journals. Barnum is a printmaker who works out of Seattle, Washington. There will be 50% discount scholarships for enrolled high school or college students. A letter of inquiry must be submitted to Untitled [ArtSpace] on or before February 13 to be considered for the scholarships. Supplies will be included.
