Opening Reception | January 29th (5pm - 8pm)
Based on the artist Ashley Allen Wilson’s 1975 realization that "time flows through us," this exhibition maps the soul’s journey from tragedy toward a "Peaceable World" of selfless love.
The work is organized into three parts:
Time like a River – The Balance of Justice.
Wilson uses a "ring of fire" to separate the tragedies of history from the Tree of Life. Central to this is the dual spiral: the belief that the small movements of injustice are eventually overcome by a larger, universal movement toward mercy.
New Melodies – The Colors of Hope.
Inspired by the "Gospel in Miniature," these works use a "Palette of Enlightenment" to create places of refuge. They celebrate the "new melodies" of the soul—the resurrection of the innocent and the triumph of life over death.
Brick not Wood – The Strength of Character.
Drawing on the poetry of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, this section focuses on permanence. It represents the transition from fluid intuition to a solid foundation of selfless love designed to guide and protect future generations.
