Join us on Saturday, November 3rd, from 1-4 PM for a silk scarf marbling workshop with Adrienne Day! Produce patterns like smooth marble or other kinds of stone on wearable scarves. Participants will have the opportunity to produce two pieces. The small rectangle scarf will be perfect for an accent around the neck, in your hair, or folded in the pocket of a suit. The longer rectangle scarf at a more traditional length can be wrapped around the neck, waist or draped across the shoulders. The patterns are the result of color transferred from a viscous solution to an absorbent surface, in this case silk fabric. Through several centuries, people have applied marbled materials to a variety of surfaces, especially book covers and endpapers in bookbinding and stationery. Each scarf will be a unique wearable monotype!
