More Details

Senator Julia Kirt was elected in 2018 to represent Senate District 30, including parts of Northwest Oklahoma City, Bethany, Warr Acres and The Village.

The daughter of an Air Force veteran and a minister, Julia learned the value of giving back to her community from an early age. Her mother and grandparents were public school educators, inspiring her lifelong advocacy for public school students.

A fifth generation Oklahoman, Julia is an experienced community leader who ran statewide nonprofit organizations for almost 20 years. Before being elected, she served as the Executive Director of Oklahomans for the Arts and the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition. Through those organizations she worked to build Oklahoma’s creative potential.

A committed leader, Julia uses her experience to serve the public. She helps bring community resources to her neighborhood public school, serving on the SMART for Cleveland Elementary Board of Directors. She participates actively at her church, St Paul’s Episcopal, Rotary Club 29, on the board of Downtown OKC Strategic Initiatives and as a volunteer for the Oklahoma City Public School District.
