Jesús Moroles's Playscape

August 5 - September 9, 2006

With Downtown in the midst of a building boom, the Playscape at [Artspace] at Untitled was especially timely. Starting July 28, 2006 an evolving metropolis of granite and wood building blocks took shape across the gallery floor. This interactive project invited gallery visitors to arrange a mountain of blocks into towers and buildings; a cityscape, which changed with each new visit. This family-friendly exhibition encouraged both children and adults to explore their inner architect.

Renowned artist, Jesús Moroles, was the architect of this installation. While in Oklahoma, he also lead the Broken Earth workshop, featuring sculpting and printmaking at [Artspace] at Untitled.
